My Swot Analysis

After brainstorming some ideas with my group I came up with the idea for a plot to our animation. My original idea for our animation was to cover the story of a teenager who was bored at a school who found out about media courses taking place at Tower Hamlets College. The character would then attend an open day and the rest of the animation would summarize his positive experience of the open day. After getting some feedback from my teacher I then edited the idea and proposed my second idea regarding the plot to my team which was about a teenager who was bored at home and had found out about media courses taking place at Tower Hamlets College and an upcoming open day, the rest of the animation would then summarize his positive experience of the open day. It was after this that I came up with the idea of naming our production Open Day as I figured the word was quite symbolic to our story. Another idea I proposed to my team was to use the rotor scoping animation technique for our animation, the reason for that was because I knew that with rotor scoping unlike many other forms of animation it is not as time consuming and we can create an animated production quickly without compromising on the aesthetics. The next idea I proposed to my team was the idea of using my smartphone as our camera since my smartphone is one of the latest smartphones and we have compared the camera quality to cameras used within the college, my phone camera quality was like by the team. This was one of the reasons as to why I proposed the idea another reason would be because we will have accessibility to it all the time and It will not take as long as the other cameras to set up. Meaning that it will save us a lot of time and again we will not be compromising on the aesthetics of our production.

Strengths-

• I believe a strength that should be included would have to be the plot that I came up with as it is something we as a group can accomplish filming properly and in a nice amount of time.
• I think another strength which would have to be included would have to be the rotor scoping technique as we have access to macs and we can then create an aesthetically appealing animation within a nice time frame
• I think that another strength which would have to be included would be being able to use my camera as it will help us create our animation properly with in a nice time frame.

Weaknesses-

• A weakness which I think should be mention would have to be lack of team effort from other tam members as I have noticed they do not apply as much effort as I do.
• Another weakness which should be included would be a big time restraint as rotor scoping can be tedious and a big time restraint can get in the way of creating an aesthetically appealing animation.

Opportunities-

• An opportunity which could take place would be having the animation go on the college website.
• Another opportunity which could take place would be being able to put the animation being used on the college website on a C.V.

Threats-

• A weakness which I think should be mention would have to be lack of team effort from other tam members as I have noticed they do not apply as much effort as I do.

• A threat which should be covered is the threat of a big time restraint as this will get in the way of creating an aesthetically appealing animation.
